Islip Town Hall has reopened following a bomb threat made just before noon on Wednesday, Newsday reported.
According to the report, a 911 caller said there was a bomb in the building. Newsday said the call was received just after 11 a.m. and the building was evacuated soon after.
The report said a K-9 unit along with detectives from the arson/bomb squad searched the building but no suspicious items were found. The evacuation lasted less than an hour, according to Newsday, which cited a town spokesperson.
, Town Hall was the target of a bomb threat that also proved to be a hoax. In that instance, a 911 caller threatened Town Hall and Suffolk County’s Department of Social Services building in Hauppauge.
