Original Story: A Dix Hills man involved in a boat crash that killed West Islip Christopher Mannino in June has been ordered to appear in court Wednesday to face charges in a grand jury indictment, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office has announced.

Brian Andreski, 27, was with a misdemeanor of operating a vessel while intoxicated [BWI] following the crash that killed Mannino on June 23. The DA's office did not release the new charges in the indictment, which will be unsealed in Suffolk County Criminal Court in Riverhead Wednesday morning.

Mannino, 39, was one of five people aboard a 38-foot fishing boat on its way to a Mako Shark fishing tournament when Andreski’s 25-foot speedboat slammed into the vessel near a stanchion under the Robert Moses Causeway around 4:50 a.m. on June 23.

Mannino was thrown from the boat and his dead body was found by divers about nine hours later, officials said. No one else on the fishing boat was hurt. Andreski and a passenger on the speedboat suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Suffolk DA Thomas Spota, in the announcement of the indictment, said of Andreski, "Crime lab tests of the defendant’s blood revealed he had a blood alcohol level of .18, over twice the legal limit of .08 for boating while intoxicated, approximately 90 minutes after hitting the fishing boat."

ARE YOU SERIOUS?? seriously I can't even post on here what I am thinking of you..because it would be more then flagged. I still stand behind Brian -- none of this changes how I feel. IF he is a killer then your a bully! Thanks for repeating what the articles say-- pretty sure we all read and don't need you to S_P_E_L_L I-T O_U_T F_O_R US. AGAIN what BRIAN DID WAS WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELSSS...BUT HIS INTENTION was NOT TO KILL CHRIS. BRIAN WAS JUST RETARTED AND DID A FUCKED UP THING THAT HAD A GREATER OUTCOME THEN WHAT HE PROBABLY THOUGHT HE WOULD EVER BE ABLE TO BE CAPABLE OF. HE DID A MORONIC THING, HOWEVER, AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE, I AM SURE IF HE COULD TAKE HIS LIFE INSTEAD HE WOULD!

I am a 13 year old boy, Chris was my dads best friend he worked with him they spent every single day together they had so much fun together all they did is laugh. All of you that stand behind this idiot are idiots like him he took a mans life that everyone loved and cared for. There is not a day that my father isn't depressed for losing him. If you are standing beside a drunk person that took someones life, well your not a good person yourself.

@fuller: Before you call names, learn the definition! Bully - A person who is habitually cruel or overbearing, especially to smaller or weaker people. No one is being a bully to Andreski. Andreski took up behind the wheel of a motor vehicle while drunk/drugged. He KNEW he was impaired, he knew how fast he was going, and he was old enough to know better than risk his life and the lives of others for a little fun. It matters not what ones intentions are, rather what the consequences of their actions will bear. If you fire a bullet in the air on New Year's eve and it kills someone, you're a killer. If you start a campfire and it leads to a forest fire that kills people and animals, you're a killer. If you do ANYTHING that leads to the taking of an innocent life, you're a killer -- and you must, under the law, suffer the consequences of your actions, period. There is no defense for Andreski, and while I realize he is a friend of yours and I empathize with you, you're not fully understanding the scope of the issue due to your personal relationship with him. Had the tables been turned, you would be screaming in all caps for justice, however they are not. Yes, it was an irresponsible act on the part of Andreski, however, that is no excuse to relieve him of responsibility for his actions. Support him privately if you wish, but don't defame the memory of my nephew by spewing your inaccurate analysis of the events and consequences. Killer: n One that kills

I don't mean bully to brian--bully to his friends and supporters and everyone else that has been called out above. Again, I agree he was a moron and did all the things that was posted. But don't go and tell me to not to post how I feel publicly when I was called out publicly on this thread. If you ask for me-- your going to get me and what I think. I do however, appreciate that you finally said you empathize with what his friends are going through--because no one ever cares about the damages done to the other side and the pain that we are going through. If you don't think that his side and friends and family have their own issues dealing with what brian did with brian--then you must think we are all horrible people. At the same time we all know brian well enough to know had he had not been drinking or whatever else he was accused of--he would not have made those decisions. unfortunately, none of that matters because he did what he did. That in itself is a lot to take in on our behalf. I am so sorry for your loss-but words cut like knives. Publicly proudly writing he is a murder and a killer--not even thinking about who you are hurting by saying that is really hurtful and unfair. Or even worse, they do know who they are hurting. And no it was not fair what happened the manning family. I think there has been enough pain for everyone. Again, I am sorry for your lost. Please keep me out of future threads
