@West Islip Mom - are you kidding? The folks at Cafe Europa are clearly reaching out to a family in need with a little kindness. They send blessings to the family and you "shame" them. Shame on YOU for being so judgemental!

Don't fight! This is 2 families struck by tragedy who both need our help. Let's all just do our best to help BOTH of them!

So I am just seeing this now, and I agree with Jessica Horvath about the fighting, and I do not wish to argue about any of this. I do need to say that I did not comment on this particular page "advertising" the benefit for Jess. I do not know how it ended up on here. Though I do find it disturbing that instead of using energy to make a nice comment and helping out somehow, you actually took the time to bash someone "advertising for their own circumstances"? Circumstances? I posted an event, again not on THIS story page, for a 7 year old girl who has cancer, not for my own circumstances. ALL families can be helped, no matter where you see the "advertisement" ( as if this where a business). The whole town came to support one of our own, and I am sure they will continue to do so, and that alone, speaks volumes. I am sorry that you were offended, and again, I did not post our benefit to THIS story, I would disregard someone else's tragedy like that.

Seriously?? West Islip Mom, do you have anything better to do than to sit on the patch and judge what other people do. This was clearly not an attempt to "advertise" anything...and it was obviously put in the wrong place. BUT IT WAS MEANT TO HELP SOMEONE...NOT HURT SOMEONE! Sorry that you were "highly diappointed" but apparently you are the only one!! Everyone else knows that it was not malicious or done to hurt anyone! This is a community that I am proud to be a part of, we come together when its' needed...
