Detectives Still Searching For Grand Larceny Suspect

Unidentified male stole about $2,000 from a wallet in a West Islip McDonald's restaurant.

Suffolk County detectives are still searching for a man who took more than $2,000 from a wallet left on a McDonald's counter in West Islip last week.

According to detectives, an unknown male entered the McDonald's restaurant on Sunrise Highway in West Islip on October 22, and took a wallet containing approximately $2,000 that was left on a counter of the restaurant at around 8:30 a.m. The wallet was later found and returned but the money was missing.

The suspect is described as a tall, black, heavy-set male in his late-twenties or thirties.

Detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying the man. 

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will be kept confidential.
