Crimes Nearby: Swastikas Found In Several Locations

Police asking for the public's help in finding suspects in several incidents.

Suffolk County Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the individuals they said are responsible for several incidents in which racially insensitive writings and symbols were painted on public and private property.

Police said Kings Park High School was the site of three incidents in which swastikas were found. The first swastika was discovered on April 17 and drawn in pencil. A second swastika was found on May 24 and drawn in marker and third was found on June 4 etched into a metal covering on an access panel.

Two of the swastikas were found in the men’s bathroom and another in the science lab, police said.

In Bridgehampton, police are also investigating an incident in which swastikas and racial slurs were painted throughout a private home under construction on Bridge Golf Course.

Police said this incident happened on June 8 between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

East Northport Sears Robbed

Suffolk Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a woman they said stole merchandise from the Sears in East Northport.

According to police, a black female entered Sears on 4000 Jericho Turnpike on June 14 just after 4 p.m. and took clothing and perfume without paying.

A security guard approached the suspect in the parking lot and recovered the merchandise. The woman left prior to police arriving.

The suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, with a heavyset build and is believed to be in her mid-40s to early-50s. She was wearing a peach and red shirt and glasses.

Retail Theft in Ronkonkoma

Suffolk Police are looking to locate the individuals they said used a stolen credit card at a Ronkonkoma department store in June.

According to police, a man and a woman used a stolen credit card for two transactions at Kohl’s on June 1.

The male is described as white, in his 40s with a medium build and dark hair. The female is describe as white, also in her 40s with a heavy build and long dark hair.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest in any of the above incidents. Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
