Burglar Steals Computer From Deer Park Home

A home on W. 18th Street in Deer Park was burglarized over the weekend, according to Suffolk Police. 

Police said someone broke into the home by shattering a locked side door sometime between 5 p.m last Friday and 2 p.m. Sunday. The burglar stole an Apple computer, police said. 

Lindenhurst Man's Charges Upgraded in Car Crash That Injured 2

The driver in a crash that injured two West Islip women this past June is now facing updated charges, according to a state crime database, and is due back in court on Dec. 13.

Joseph Gervasio, 24, of Lindenhurst, is now facing an E felony count for leaving the scene of an accident that involved physical injury and aggravated unlicensed use of a vehicle.

West Islip Man Sentenced in Road Rage Crash Fatality

A West Islip man has pled guilty in the death of a 15-year-old West Islip teenager who was killed as a result of a road rage incident a year ago and is now serving a one-to-three year term upstate, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.

Dennis Grabhorn Jr., 35, pled guilty in October to criminally negligent homicide, reckless driving, speeding, following too close to a vehicle and driving in a passing zone. A charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance was dismissed as part of the plea deal.

Police Nab West Islip Debit Card Thief

Nassau police have arrested a man they say stole a bank debit card from a West Islip woman in late October and then used the card without her permission.

Lindenhurst resident Robert Marlow, 23, turned himself in Tuesday and is now facing a grand larceny charge for the incident. He is also being charged with a burglary incident in Wantagh.

The arrest comes after a two-month investigation.
