Crimes Nearby: Items Taken From Sephora, Sports Authority

Police offering rewards of up to $5,000 for information on suspects in several unsolved cases.

Suffolk County Police and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s help in locating the individuals responsible for the following incidents across the county.

• On March 1, police said a woman entered Sephora in the Smith Haven Mall and stole various cosmetics valued at approximately $1,000.  The woman was described by police as having an olive complexion, dark hair and appeared to be in her 20s.  She was wearing a dark-colored jacket and dark pants.

• Police are looking to locate the individual they said stole a purse from a vehicle parked at a gas station in North Amityville in June. The purse contained a cellphone, jewelry and credit cards. The incident took place at U.S. Petroleum, 616 Broadway, on June 30 at 2:45 a.m.

• On May 15, police said a white male entered the Sports Authority located at 124 Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack and stole golf clubs valued at more than $1,000. The suspect is believed to be in his 30s, wearing a Yankees baseball hat, white T-shirt and dark pants with a white stripe down the leg.  

• Police are looking for the person they said punched a cash register and broke the cover and scanner at the USA Gas Station at 1290 New York Ave. The incident took place at June 28 just before 1 a.m. Police described the suspect as a black male, in his mid 20s, approximately 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black T-shirt and black hat.

Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will be kept confidential. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
