Crime Report: Burglaries Reported on Higbie Lane and Haynes Avenue

Incidents and arrests reported by the Third Precinct of the SCPD between October 16- October 24.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests

  • On October 24, a Setauket woman was arrested in West Islip and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • On October 23, Richard Kofler, of West Islip, was arrested in West Islip and charged with DWI.
  • On October 20, a West Islip woman was arrested in West Islip and charged with disorderly conduct: obstructing traffic.
  • On October 20, a West Islip man was arrested in West Islip and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.
  • On October 19, a West Islip man was arrested in West Islip and aggaravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
  • On October 18, a West Islip man was arrested in West Islip and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
  • On October 17, a Patchogue man was arrested in West Islip and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

Incidents

  • On October 24, there was a report of grand larceny on Sunrise Highway. According to police, two loaner cars were never returned to Atlantic Auto Mall.
  • On October 23, there was a report of grand burglary on Higbie Lane.
  • On October 22, there was a report of grand burglary on Haynes Avenue.
  • On October 21, there was a report of criminal mischief on Oak Neck Road.
  • On October 21, there was a report of criminal mischief on Higbie Lane.
  • On October 17, there was a report of grand larceny on West Islip Road.
  • On October 16, there was a report of harassment on Montauk Highway.
  • On October 16, there was a report of harassment on Sunrise Highway.
  • On October 16, there was a report of harassment on Reilly Street.

This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Politics get dirty enough as is and I think this will increase participation and ultimately give us a better Board of Education.
