Crime Report: 3 More House Burglaries in West Islip

Three more homes hit in a five-day time span.

Burglars struck in West Islip three times in one week, according to police reports, a crime trend that began earlier in the month.

This time burglars hit two homes on Nov. 9, one on Ocean Avenue and another on Ward Street.

A home on Webster Avenue was reported burglarized on Nov. 5.

In most of the burglaries small electronic items and jewelry are reported missing.

Police advise that homeowners lock windows and doors, as several burglaries have occurred with access through open back doors and windows. Given the early darkness hour with daylight savings time residents should make sure outside motion lights are in working order.
