A motorcyclist has lost his life after it crash with a minivan in Baywood Friday afternoon, authorities said.
Suffolk County police said Tammy Quintero was driving a 2001 Dodge Caravan westbound on Pine Aire Drive when she tried to turn left onto Cleveland Avenue at approximately 12:55 p.m. Hiram DeJesus Figueroa, was operating a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle heading east on Pine Aire Drive and collided with Quintero’s vehicle.
DeJesus Figueroa, 41, of Brentwood, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore by ambulance where he died of his injuries. Quintero, 36, of Central Islip, was not injured in the crash.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
