3 Juveniles Charged With Arson in West Islip House Fire

The West Islip blaze took place Saturday at about 5:45 p.m.

Suffolk Police have arrested three juveniles who allegedly set a West Islip house on fire this weekend.

The three juveniles, according to police, are charged with arson in the third degree for setting the blaze at 694 Everdell Avenue in West Islip at 5:45 p.m. on January 4.

According to a Facebook posting by the Babylon Fire Department, several local departments assisted the West Islip Fire Department in extinguishing the blaze.

Patch will update this story when more details are available. The West Islip Fire Department did not immediately return a call on the incident.

Names and info on those arrested is not released due to the age, according to police. Awaiting info from WI FD on details of fire and will update as soon as that's available.

I live in this neighborhood, it would be helpful to know if this is something we now need to be worried about. Packs of juveniles setting random houses on fire? Or was this house singled out for some reason? It's pretty terrifying.

The house is an abandoned house already. Just sounds like a bunch of stupid kids doing VERY stupid things.
