We Asked, You Answered: Kids Return to School

Patch reached out to local moms and asked whether they were relieved or sad that school is starting. Here's what they said.

On Monday we asked all our motherly Facebook followers their thoughts of their kids returning to school, especially whether they were sad or relieved (we mean that in a good way).  Here's what they had to say.

Jane Mckeon-Pietaro couldn't really decided: "A little bit of both," she said.

How about Kelly Rodriguez?  "Relieved and Happy!!!!"

Jacquelin Balcerak didn't hold back with her answer:  "elated."

Vicky Cianci commented "Always a tad sad but after this summer I am singing party in the house tonight."

Faith Tripp wasn't happy because her summer was over also: "Sad because it means I'm back to work too."

Susan Falkenmayer was relieved: "Happy!! But I love my boy and wish him a great school year!"

Porsia Yonkasky was sad to see summer go:  "Sad-ish. They are ready to go but I love the summer schedule."

Tricia Arellano coudn't make up her mind:  "Sad and glad!"

Patch blogger Gayle Amico was excited, to say the least. "SOOOOO HAPPY!!! Both kids out of the house by 7:30!!"

And the winner of our comment thread was Grace Savino who said, "Party at my house 9 a.m.  BYOC (bring your own coffee) lol."

You can thank all these POS politicians for the new gun legislation designed to make law abidingRead More citizens give up their second amendment rights out of sheer frustration and incontinence of owning a gun legally for increases in savage on citizen violence. This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Has anyone been able to find out if we are losing money renting this building to this for profitRead More preschool? If I under stood correctly from previous post's, there may be some friendship with one or more BOE members which paved the way for their lease.

I think Proposition 2 is a great idea, in the current structure you have to "call out" anRead More individual basically saying "I think you are doing a particularly bad job". Politics get dirty enough as is and I think this will increase participation and ultimately give us a better Board of Education.

Why didn't the author run for the open seat this year? Bark of a wolf and courage of a lamb.
