Talk Back: Do You Feel Safe West Islip?

With two fatal accidents in recent weeks, has your perception of safety in West Islip changed?

To say it's been a busy few weeks for police in our area might be an understatement.

Just after midnight Monday, the was discovered laying in the middle of Sandra Avenue. Police later , 26, of Brightwaters. So far, no arrests have been made.

Just a week before, a crash on the Great South Bay resulted in a arrest that involved the death of a West Islip man.

In just the last week Orinoco Drive was just leveled and repaved. As much as it was needed it now drives as smooth as ever. But without a stop sign or two along the way, this straight run is now a glorified drag strip. Something must be done soon, or lives will be lost, and property damaged.
