Question of the Day: Parking Tickets

Have you gotten a ticket in the village?

Have you gotten a parking ticket recently in the Village of Farmingdale? Do you think the village has been more or less strict about giving out tickets? Do you think there needs to be different parking rules? Tell us in the comments.

Marco, driving in to Farmingdale the other day from Route 110, I saw a sign near the "this is Farmingdale" sign -- I forget the exact message -- that referred to the four-hour limit. But I haven't seen such signs on any streets where people would park though I haven't checked every street, of course.

Again, then every CAR of every RESIDENT in the Village would be ticketed EVERY day & nite...obviously, not the case. And again, I've lived here 16 years and NEVER seen that sign.

I received a head in only parking ticket. Being from Suffolk I have not heard of this. Yes there were signs about 6 stalls down but if I had seen them I would not have parked like that. And there is a car that I now notice backs into space every time I go back to that parking lot. My solution is to now stop shopping and spending my money in Farmingdale. I was there for 10 minutes and got a ticket. Money hungry town.

I have lived throughout the country, and in every locality there are signs posted regarding parking restrictions. Farmingdale has become Macon County. You don't know what laws they have, until they decide you broke them. I did not park in the RR lot, or on streets w/parking restriction signs, on them, the street I parked on had no signs. Well all I know, is that I will not patronize any establishment in Farmingdale anymore. No more family(10 ppl) dinners at Palmers, no Sunday football w/the guys at Croxleys, and as a food purchaser, I will no longer purchase from Farmingdale Meats, and I will use my dentists other office in Bethpage. Oh and of course I will tell anyone I know to boycott Farmingdale.(at least 10X). So enjoy the $50 sneaky parking ticket, but also enjoy the fact, that because of your deceptive practices, that the merchants of your village will be the ones to suffer. But I guess it doesn't matter, if Main St is full of empty buildings. Then they'll be more parking

oh yeah who really stops and reads the "welcome to signs"?
