Manning Bowl III

This afternoon, MetLife Stadium will host the third meeting between the two Manning Brothers.   It is the first time in NFL history that two quarterbacks will be competing against one another coming off 400 yard passing games.  Peyton holds the edge over Eli with victories in the first two meetings. 

The game will be a major test for the Giants reconstructed defense against one of the greatest regular season quarterbacks in NFL history.  A big key to their success against Peyton will be how well the Giants front four can put pressure on the future Hall of Famer.  The Giants pass rush must disrupt his timing and not allow him to get into a rhythm.   

On offense, it is time for Eli to step up and show that he no longer is the little brother once pushed around.  Eli has developed into a “gunslinger” who is not afraid to throw the ball anywhere on the field.  His receiving tandem of Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks are fast becoming two of the best in the NFL.  What Eli must avoid is the interceptions he is often prone to throwing.

I think today is the day that little brother Eli steps up and gets a victory over big brother Peyton in what many are saying may be the last time they play against one another…
