Jets and Giants Bi-Coastal

The Jets and the Giants will be playing on opposite coasts today when both teams try to improve upon 5 – 7 records.  The Jets will be at home to face the Oakland Raiders, while the Giants must travel across the country for a rare visit to San Diego and a showdown with the Chargers.

Gang Green will be looking for their first win since the bye week.  After defeating the Saints five weeks ago the Jets have lost three games in a row.  A win this week will keep playoff hopes alive and quiet some of the talk about the future of Head Coach Rex Ryan.  The game plan for the Jets should be simple.  Don’t give up big plays and don’t turn the ball over.

Meanwhile Big Blue, after a miserable start of losing six straight games, is really playing for pride.  Even with a win against the Chargers they will need a lot of help to make the playoffs.   However a win will not be easy.  Philip Rivers, the Chargers QB, is completing 70% of his attempts.  For the Giants to have any chance of stopping his prolific passing they must pressure him up the middle.  Look for the Giants front four to keep their hand up to try and bat down passes from his awkward side arm delivery.
