Giants Soaring

One thing was made perfectly clear as the Giants  wrapped up their victory over the Green Bay Packers.  Cowboy week would have meaning.  The G- Men meet the ‘Boys next week in a rematch of the season opener.  At that time the Giants had high expectation of winning the NFC East and navigating the playoffs so as to become the first team appearing in a Super Bowl at their home stadium. But six straight losses and a spot in the division basement put a damper on that goal.

Now five weeks removed from their last loss and four victories latter the Giants find themselves just a game and a half out of the division lead.  They have moved out of the cellar.  A victory over the Cowboys would put the Giants into second place, just one game behind the idle Philadelphia Eagles with five games left to play.

True; the Giants have little room for error.  They do not have any games remaining with the Eagles.  And the schedule is difficult.  But; they have shown steady improvement.  The Eagles have some tough games remaining.  And on any given Sunday, who knows?

The quest continues this weekend.  Any slip up could be deadly.  Yet the Giants have given back significance to Cowboy week.  The atmosphere, come Sunday afternoon, should be at playoff level.  MetLife Stadium will be rocking.  Both teams should be ready.  It is up to the Giants to make sure the excitement continues…
