Fight for Pecking Order!

This Sunday the Buffalo Bill will be visiting MetLife Stadium for a major showdown with the New York Jets.   Since 2008 the Bills have been a perennial bottom dweller in the AFC East.  During that time the Jets have beaten the Bills eight of their ten meetings.  Be that as it may, the Bills will be coming to the Meadowland with a new air of confidence following their last second victory over the Carolina Panthers.

Much of the Bills enthusiasm rest on the arm of their new rookie quarterback, E.J. Manuel.   The Bills drafted Manuel with their first pick hoping he would be the one to lead them out of the basement and into contention in a division that has been dominated by the New England Patriots.

The Jets also have a rookie quarterback, Geno Smith, whom they too drafted with the anticipation of leading them to a division title.  Over the last week Smith has expressed that the game is more than just a battle of two rookie quarterbacks.  “It’s about team…” he has repeated.

Nevertheless, the futures of both franchises seems to rest with the success of the young man chosen to lead each team’s offense.  For the sake of the Jets, let us hope they made the correct choice…
