[PHOTOS] West Islip Memorial Day Parade

Community gathers to honor service members and remember those who gave their lives for freedom.

The 58th annual West Islip Memorial Day Parade was held under sunny, blue skies with temperatures that signified summer is here. Taking its usual trek south down Udall Road and Higbie Lane to Paul J. Bellew Elementary School, the parade featured members of American Legion Post 1738, the high school cheerleaders, color guard and marching band, and a host of youth and community groups. Also, the fire department was once again out in force showing off their Sunday best.

While we are showcasing numerous images from Monday's parade, Patch spotted several West Islip residents at the parade armed with their cameras; and some nice ones, too. You can easily share your photos with your neighbors by uploading images to Patch.
