West Islip LAX Players Raises Thousands for Newtown

After the loss of 26 students and teachers in the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy, West Islip junior girls lacrosse player Riley Hill was compelled to help.

Hill has a younger sibling the same age as some of the students who lost their life and her jersey number happens to be 26.

She coordinated multiple fundraising events called 'Laxin for the 26' in an effort to raise funds to help out the families affected by Newtown. Her efforts raised $3,636 and she recently presented the check to the Newton Youth Academy.
