West Islip "Communities That Care" Blood Drive Tuesday

Donate between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Westbrook Elementary School.

Residents of West Islip, Bettinelli's Community Boxing Academy and the American Red Cross are joining together for a “Communities That Care” blood drive on Tuesday, December 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Westbrook Elementary School at 350 Higbie Lane in West Islip.

A “Communities That Care” blood drive is a Red Cross initiative to engage local citizens and boost regional blood supplies by enlisting community support.

The Red Cross is asking eligible blood donors of all blood types to donate blood during the winter months to strengthen the community’s blood supply. Give something that means something this holiday season by donating blood. When you donate blood you are giving a gift that can help save a life.

Local blood donors are needed all year round to ensure the blood supply stays strong. Approximately every two seconds a patient in the United States needs blood. That’s why your blood donation through the Red Cross is so important. Your blood donation can help save the life of a real person in our community.

All presenting donors at this blood drive will receive a free Red Cross t-shirt. Additionally, all presenting donors will have the opportunity to enter for a chance to win (2) tickets to Super Bowl XLVIII.* Walk-ins are always welcome, but donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or by visiting redcrossblood.org.
