Good Sam Guilds Donates $1,200 to Pediatric Child Life Program

Donation collected as part of charity shopping event, Macy's "Shop for a Cause," at the Westfield South Shore Mall.

Good Samaritan Hospital Guilds has donated $1,200 to benefit the hospital’s pediatric child life program.

The Guilds were among more than 45 charitable organizations selling $5 discount cards for the August 24 charity shopping event, Macy’s “Shop for a Cause,” at the Westfield South Shore Mall.

The Child Life Program, which began in 2003, focuses on making a child’s health care experience more comfortable using tools familiar to them, such as art, play and education. The Child Life Specialists join with the pediatric health care team to promote and support the family’s role in their child’s hospital experience.
