Rebuilding Lives for our Heroes Special Event

A commitment to donate ($25) per car sold the day of the event has been given by Atlantic Hyundai and Atlantic Nissan for Building Homes for Heroes®

West Islip, NY – July 02, 2011 – Atlantic Hyundai and Atlantic Nissan are hosting a fundraising event with proceeds benefiting Building Homes for Heroes and U.S. Marine First Lieutenant James Byler. This phenomenal event will be held at the dealership, located at 193  Sunrise Highway on July 02, 2011 from 11:00am till 5:00 p.m.

Best known as two of Long Island’s top automobile dealerships, Atlantic Hyundai and Atlantic Nissan are helping to honor one of Long Islands own heroes.  1st Lieutenant James Byler USMC from Huntington NY, was severely wounded while serving our country in Afghanistan.  He lost both of his legs and pinkies on his hands.  Building Homes for Heroes, a charitable organization based in Long Island, is carrying out a complete renovation of Byler’s home to meet his special needs.  Atlantic Hyundai and Atlantic Nissan will be donating $25.00 for every car they sell the day of this event to Building Homes for Heroes benefiting 1st Lieutenant Byler. The Building Homes for Heroes team will be onsite all day as will 1st Lieutenant Byler, health permitting and his family.  In a show of commitment and honor, the Marine Corps Color Guard will be proudly appearing at the event performing a colors ceremony at 3:00pm. The Marines Special Event Humvee will be on display and from Bay Shore, The US Marine Corps Recruiters event team will be participating in the activities to honor 1st Lieutenant Byler.   Atlantic Hyundai and Atlantic Nissan invites the entire community to visit the dealership to help support their efforts to make 1st Lieutenant Byler’s home one fit for a hero. Please come and join Atlantic Hyundai, Atlantic Nissan, Building Homes for Heroes and The United States Marine Corps in honoring and saluting 1st Lieutenant Byler, a hometown hero.

At this special event not only will you find free food and drinks, but also local radio stations and their remote vehicles, WBLI 106.1 FM and KJOY 98.3 FM. Other radio stations will make appearances that day too.   With many activities planned, Atlantic Hyundai and Atlantic Nissan expect this lively event to be fun and enjoyable for the entire family.  Papa John’s Pizza at 1 Railroad Plz, Bay Shore has graciously donated the food for the special event.  Drinks provided Atlantic Hyundai and Atlantic Nissan.

            “I feel honored to be able to host such a significant event,” said Chief Operating Officer of New York Auto Giant Michael Brown, “We are trying to do everything we can to create awareness about the plight of those who were injured defending the freedom of this great county.”

Building Homes for Heroes is a national non-profit, non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2006.  They provide individuals, corporations and others with an opportunity to help our severely wounded and disabled veterans and their families rebuild their lives. Building Homes for Heroes is committed to supporting those who have returned home from the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan with severe wounds and disabilities, with a goal to build homes for families in dire need. It’s our honor to support those who have been called upon to make a tremendous personal sacrifice.
