Annual Elizabeth T. McNamee Run Set for May 12
15th annual memorial 5K/Fun Run will take place Mother's Day morning at West Islip High School.
The 15th Annual Elizabeth T. McNamee 5K will be held on May 12 in West Islip.
A community tradition, the annual memorial run draws hundreds of participants each Mother's Day.
This year's 5K begins at 9:30 a.m. at West Islip High School. A 1 mile fun run/walk starts at 9 a.m.
The run was started by Maria McNamee, in memory of her daughter Elizabeth, a West Islip and Harvard graduate who passed away due to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy in 1998. The McNamee family founded the Elizabeth T. McNamee Memorial Fund to help fund research and raise awareness about the disease.
