West Islip Ranked Among Newsweek's Best High Schools
Annual list highlights the best 2,000 public high schools in the nation.
West Islip High School is listed among the top 2,000 best high schools in the nation, according to Newsweek's "America's Best High Schools 2013."
Schools on the list have proven to be the most effective in graduating college-ready graduates and is based on six aspects: graduation rate, college acceptance rate, AP/IB/AICE tests, average SAT/ACT scores and percent of students enrolled in the AP/IB/AICE course.
West Islip ranks in at 715 on the list. The district has a 98 percent graduation rate, and an average SAT score of 1568.
