The Week Ahead: Halloween Costume Drive, Healthy Cooking Class

Throughout the month of October, you can view the Pink Flags of October display on the front lawn of Good Samaritan Hospital. Hundreds of flags were placed there Sunday by the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The West Islip Public Library is holding an ongoing Halloween costume drive for new and gently used costumes to donate to children in need. The costumes will be distributed through several Long Island organizations before Halloween. You can drop off your donation through Friday, Oct. 19.

Youngsters and their parents can enjoy storytime at the library on Tuesday. Storytime for tots ages 24 months to 41 months will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

If you need some more insight into your life, Mystic Louis will be giving Tarot card readings at Cafe Mojo's Psychic Night starting Tuesday at 7 p.m. Private readings are $25.

On Wednesday, Southside Hospital is hosting a free healthy cooking class at 6:30 p.m. Call 631-968-3593 to register.
