Residents on Captree Island got a big surprise on Tuesday as the recent storm finally pushed out to sea – a great blue heron.
The beautiful bird was apparently blown in by the nor'easter over the past weekend, waiting out the gusty winds before taking back off. Blue herons are a relatively common sight across the United States throughout the year, although the birds are usually further south during the winter.
