Monday's Events: What's Happening in West Islip

The nice weather has returned for now.

Finally the weather has become a little more seasonal and likeable. Highs for Monday morning will average around 82 in West Islip, with cooler temperatures at the beach and near the shore thanks to a nice breeze. Little humidity during the whole day and almost no chance of storms means head out and enjoy the sun.

Seniors who could use assistance navigating computers can get help from high-school volunteers through Seniors Connect on Saturday at the library. If you have your own laptop, feel free to bring it, otherwise one can be supplied.

While you're laying by the beach or pool reading this summer, write up a short review of the book to enter the library's summer reading program contest. You could win the grand prize, or one of four raffle baskets. Anyone who enrolls in the program will receive a gift bag. The program ends August 10.
