Five Things you need to know about West Islip for Friday, May 20.

Check this list everyday for a glimpse at what's happening around West Islip... from school events to sports games and Town of Islip functions, there is a sampling of everything.  We'll also preview and tease upcoming stories.

  1. Visit at 10:30 a.m. for our weekly Sold! column.  See how much homes in your neighborhood are going for.
  2. Cafe Mojo is hosting live Karaoke starting at 9:30 p.m.  Enjoy food, beverage and a cozy atmosphere.  Oh, and great music.
  3. The ASL (American Sign Language) 4 Honors students will be hosting a Idol Competition Fund Raiser tonight at 6: 30 p.m. at the high school to benefit Global Reach Out (GRO), a deaf organization.   All songs will be sung in sign language.  Admission is $7 or $5 if you wear an ASL shirt. There will be an intermission where refreshments and raffle prizes will be available.
  4. Looking for something to do this weekend?  Check back later for a few ideas from a local columnist.
  5. Support the by getting your car washed at the Church of Christ.  The cost is $8 per car.
