1.  West Islip High School was recently recognized by the College Board for scoring well on AP exams and increasing their AP course access.  Look for this story in detail at noon today.

Formed by a unique set of geological conditions over the past 15,000 years, the Pine Barrens is Long Island’s premier ecosystem . It is home to literally thousands of plant and animal species, many of them endangered or threatened. Tom Casey will present a disucssion on the ecology and diversity of the Pine Barrens and how we can help preseve them.

4. Beginning Mah Jong (10 a.m.-12 p.m., )

Mah Jong is a Chinese game similar to the card game Rummy, but you use tiles and a card to determine what combinations can be played.  In four sessions, Sue Kalish will teach you what you need to know to play this ancient game.  Fee: $5.  Limit: 24.
