Man Hit By Train in West Islip Dies

LIRR officials identify victim as Brendan Clifford of East Islip.

An East Islip man struck by a westbound Long Island Rail Road train in West Islip late Wednesday night has died.

According to LIRR spokesperson Marjorie Anders, Brendan Clifford, 22, was trespassing on the tracks when he was struck a quarter-mile east of the Higbie Lane crossing at around 11 p.m.

Clifford was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Anders said the train involved in the incident was the 9:59 p.m. from Speonk that was due into Babylon at 11:07 p.m.

It is not clear why Clifford was on the tracks. Anders said an investigation by Metropolitan Transportation Authority police is continuing.

You can thank all these POS politicians for the new gun legislation designed to make law abidingRead More citizens give up their second amendment rights out of sheer frustration and incontinence of owning a gun legally for increases in savage on citizen violence. This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
