Local Gas Guide: Where to Fill 'Er Up

Valero, Gas Stop once again offering town-low fuel prices.

Well, it was nice while it lasted.

Gas prices around West Islip are on the rise once again, according to LongIslandGasPrices.com.

While prices have dropped considerably over the last month and a half, there was an 8 cents increase over the last week.

, Gas Stop and Valero are both offering a town-low price of $3.63 per gallon.  Delta is alone in second and is selling regular for $3.65.

The average price for regular on Long Island is $3.72, which is also a slight increase from last week's $3.69.

Rounding out the top-five cheapest stations in West Islip are America's Petroleum and USA ($3.69) and CITGO ($3.75).

The most inexpensive price on the Island?  You'll have to drive all the way out to a Gulf station in Calverton, where they're selling regular for $3.49 per gallon.  A Shell station in Rockville Centre is home to the most expensive gas, charging patrons $4.15.
