Facebook Page Created in Honor of Pupke

Has already received 756 'likes' and dozens of comments showing support for Brian Pupke and his family.

A Facebook remembrance page entitled "Rest in Peace Brian Pupke" was recently created for Brian Pupke, the West Islip . 

Although the MTA police have yet to confirm the identity of the male , many residents have told Patch that it was Pupke. 

"Police still don't have a positive identification," said MTA Spokesperson Salvatore Arena in an email Saturday evening.

The Facebook Page, which was created around 4 a.m. on Saturday, has already garnered 756 'likes' and dozens of comments displaying love and support for Pupke and his family. 

"I woke up to this news and my heart is very heavy and broken by it..
as a neighborhood resident of west islip, a mother, a person with heart," wrote Lisa Palermo.  "My love, thoughts and prayers are ALL with Brian and his family...peaceful rest to you Brian."

On Friday, a Facebook page was created to help find Pupke, but has since been deleted. 

Greg Stewart, who is a student at WI High School, added, "rest in peace, im so sorry to the pupke family, stay strong, you will get through this."

"Ah I remember the day I met you, I would always call you pumpke, and you would always try and correct me," wrote Sarah Niggemeier.  "Say hi to all the West Islip angels up there for me ♥ rest easyyy ♥."
