Dec. 13: NYC Holiday Bus Trip

Five things you should know for Tuesday, Dec. 13.

Join the library for a NYC holiday bus tour leaving at 10:45 a.m. (returns at approx. 8 p.m.).  The bus will tour Grand Central Station and Bryant Park, followed by a late lunch at Pietrasanta Restaurant. After dinner we will be treated to a guided Night Light Tour of Manhattan. Price of $78 includes transportation, lunch, and gratuities. Remember: no smoking, no refunds, and no reserved seating.

Tonight is the high school winter orchestra concert inside the auditorium at 7:30 p.m.  Support the students who've been working all quarter for your enjoyment.

A representative from E.P.I.C. (Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage) will be at the library from 2-3 p.m. today.  This NY State program will explain how this drug coverage plan helps seniors pay for their prescription drugs by providing secondary coverage. More than 250,000 EPIC enrollees are saving an average of 90 percent of the cost of their medicines. 

The school district announced yesterday that they have implemented a crisis management team in regards to the tragic passing of John Gaffney.

This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I think Proposition 2 is a great idea, in the current structure you have to "call out" anRead More individual basically saying "I think you are doing a particularly bad job". Politics get dirty enough as is and I think this will increase participation and ultimately give us a better Board of Education.
