Bay Shore Man Killed in Auto Accident

Suffolk detectives say they are still investigating an accident that took place on Sunrise Highway early Wednesday morning.

A one-car motor vehicle accident claimed the life of a Bay Shore man in North Lindenhurst early Wednesday morning when his car struck two poles and flipped over, according to Suffolk County police.

The driver, Eric Shaw, 48,  was transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and was later pronounced dead,  police said.

According to a police report, witnesses said they saw a 1996 Nissan Maxima travelling eastbound on Sunrise Highway when it appeared to lose control, crash into two poles near the 44th street intersection, flip over, then land in a parking lot  in front of 21 West Sunrise Highway at 12:04 a.m.
