Airlines Waving Fees As Blizzard Approaches

Southwest, US Airways waive change fees for those set to fly out of Long Island MacArthur Airport on Friday or Saturday.

Long Island MacArthur Airport’s two major carriers are relaxing change fees as a massive nor’easter approaches the region.

Southwest Airlines, the airport’s largest carrier, said customers holding reservations for travel to and/or from Long Island on Friday, February 8, or Saturday, February 9, are eligible to reschedule their flight in accordance with the airline’s accommodation procedures.

US Airways, on its web site, said it has relaxed its change-fee policies. If a trip to and/or from MacArthur is affected by the storm, travelers may change the trip on-line in most cases and all change fees will be waived.
