11 Born at Good Sam on 11/11/11

Hospital delivers 11 babies on historic day.

Eleven turned out to be the lucky number on 11/11/11, for obvious reasons; one being that it produced 11 newborn babies at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Good Sam's BirthPlace reported that eight girls and three boys were born.  For two of the moms, it was the birth of their first child.

November 11, 2011 was also Veterans Day, and one of the girls born, Morgan Shea Ayers, is the daughter of Patrick Ayers who is currently serving in the U.S. Navy.  And to boot, Morgan was born in an emergency C-section in room 511 at 11:50 p.m., weighing in at six pounds, 11 ounces.

“What better gift on Veterans Day for my husband," new mom Siobhan Ayers said. "I can’t wait for him to meet his daughter."

Elizabeth DeSalvo, the other new mom in the group, also had a C-section to deliver her daughter Lillian.

“11/11/11 has special meaning to my husband, Christopher, and me," DeSalvo said.   "After winning the lottery on Jan. 1, 2011, we hoped that adding more 1s would bring us additional luck.”
