WI Varsity Softball Senior Day

SENIOR DAY-- MAY 19, 2011

The 2011 West Islip Girl's Varsity Softball team ended their season today with honoring the three graduating seniors Danielle Cama, Julia Santini, and Megan Henry and their parents with flowers and special farewell comments by their fellow teammates. The season may not have been considered successful by wins and losses but for today they were all WINNERS. I attended a few games this year and the girl's always gave 110% and never gave up a real tribute to all the players as well as Coach Michelle Jantzen and Ass't Coaches Beth Crimi and Bob Tobey. Coach Jantzen poured her heart and soul into this season as she does every year and teaches these young woman not only Softball fundamentals but also from what I witnessed a bunch of girl's who always worked hard and were always smiling, happy to be playing and being competitive. Of course we all want to win but I am sure all these girl's will remember this season as one great season where friendships were made. A shout out to Ass't Bob Tobey who runs the Booster Club and had great prizes that were raffled off before the game. They will be having their awards dinner in June. Bob would like to thank the community for purchasing raffle tickets thus allowing these girl's all  WINNERS to celebrate at Capt Bill's in Bay Shore. This program under the guide of Coach Jantzen is heading in the right direction and I am sure great things are ahead in the very near future. For all the players remember this:

Dream big and work hard.  Play with passion and the sky is the limit.  Fastpitch rocks!!!!!!!
