Wild by Nature to Open in West Islip

Store will open in the former King Kullen location later this year.

It's official.

Wild by Nature will open a store in West Islip at the former King Kullen location at 478 Union Boulevard.

The natural food store will open in the late summer or early fall.

“We are very excited to be opening our first south shore location in mid-Suffolk County,” Wild by Nature Co-President Joseph Brown said in a statement.  “We’ve had many requests for a store in the area and we feel this location will be ideal.  West Islip residents and their neighbors in the surrounding communities will be able to enjoy the same fresh, healthy foods and environmentally sound products as shoppers at our other four locations.”

Wild by Nature, an independent subsidiary of King Kullen, opened its first store nearly 20 years ago in East Setauket, followed by stores in Huntington, Hampton Bays and Oceanside.

The West Islip store will include a produce center featuring organic fruits and vegetables; a complete selection of meats and poultry; a deli and appetizers department; a wok station; fresh-caught seafood; sushi; a full-service bakery with fresh baked breads; a wide array of groceries; a café with a juice and Smoothies bar; an extensive all-natural nutrition and supplement department; health and beauty care products; and a large selction of gluten-free foods.

I guess if we can't convince "Trader Joe's" to come to the south shore, this is the next best thing.

Much better than leaving it vacant...it will be a welcome addition

agreed with Rich H. Trader Joes would have been wonderful. so if this is owned by the Cullen family, not sure how affordable it will be, but, this is so much better than what it could have been.

Really looking forward to this right here in our own town! :D No more driving 25 minutes north to Trader Joe's or 25 minutes east to the expensive Whole Foods just to go to an organic supermarket! Food the way nature intended us to eat it!!!
