White House/Black Market Grand Opening Thursday at South Shore Mall

West Islip residents itching to get started on holiday shopping can kick-off the season at the grand opening of White House/Black Market, the newest retailer opening at Westfield South Shore Mall in Bay Shore on Thursday.

The grand opening event features a special deal for shoppers: a $20 savings on purchases over $80.

WH/BM, which began as a small boutique called The White House in 1985 in Baltimore, Maryland and then the arrival of Black Market, which opened in 1995, launched as a combined retailer in 1997. It features sophisticated style apparel and accessories in black and white, and occassionaly related shades.

“Our clothing remains a symbol of who we are: the honest simplicity of black and white, and the remarkable individuality of the different styles we build from it,” states the retailer’s website.

It currently run more than 400 boutiques and 45 outlets, as well as an online store and catalog sales channel.

“Throughout everything, our passion has always been to make women feel beautiful. That’s what we’re about. And our clothing remains a symbol of who we are: the honest simplicity of black and white, and the remarkable individuality of the different styles we build from it,” states Brand President Donna Noce in a letter on the retailer’s website.

In addition to the grand opening event, the retailer is jumping earlier on the Black Friday shopping frenzy by opening on ‘Grey Thursday,’ at 8 p.m. According to Westfield it’s one of many mall stores that will be open the evening of November 28.
