West Islip King Kullen May be Closing, Maybe Not
Company spokesperson won't confirm or deny the closing rumor.
A report circulating in West Islip regarding the potential closure of King Kullen on Union Boulevard may or may not be true as a company spokesperson told Patch Monday morning that she had no information whether the store was closing or not closing by year’s end.
“I have no information regarding whether that’s true or not true. I have not heard anything regarding that,” the spokesperson told Patch.
A West Islip resident noted on the Patch board Monday morning that they had heard from a "reliable" source that King Kullen would close and that the supermarket would then open a subsidiary business, Wild in Nature, at the location.

Wild by Nature is just one of several independent subsidiaries that the Bethpage supermarket chain operates. It is described as a full-service, full size natural food marketplace on the King Kullen website. There are over 42 King Kullen stores on Long Island.
