Roots Bistro Gourmand Opens For Business

Roots offers updated French fare on Montauk Highway.

West Islip's newest eatery, Roots Bistro Gourmand, opened its doors earlier this week.

The cozy bistro, which replaces on Montauk Highway, serves up French cuisine with a modern flare.

Co-owners Philippe Corbet and James Orlandi make their way to West Islip from in St. James, where they served as chefs. At Roots, they take over as executive chef and general manager, respectively.

Roots Bistro Gourmand is open Tuesday through Sunday, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.Located at 399 Montauk Hwy. West Islip, (631) 587-2844.

Since they are using the same telephone number as Parkwood will they honor a gift certf. or are we stuck for this??? If they honor the certf. we'll give them a try otherwise they and the former owners have ripped us off.

Ok. Got around to calling today and spoke to Chelse. She said they will honor the gift cert. So we will be calling for a resv. and give them a try.

Went to Roots last night. Wonderful dinner, great service and very pleasant staff. will be back again in the near future. Give them a try "you'll like it"
