Good Samaritan Hospital Appoints Interim Chairman of Radiation Oncology

Johnny Kao brings expertise in radiation therapy to the department.

Johnny Kao, MD, has been appointed interim chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at . 

Kao, a graduate of Dartmouth and Mount Sinai School of Medicine, served as Assistant Professor and William Harris Research Fellow at Mount Sinai School of Medicine from 2005 to 2010 and most recently comes from Florida, where he served as an associate at Florida Radiation Oncology Group in Tampa.

The Jericho resident led several pioneering clinical trials combining high precision radiation therapy with chemotherapy regimens that successfully treated patients with advanced, recurrent or metastastic cancers.

He has published more than 60 journal articles and textbook chapters on breast, prostate, head, neck, lung and gynecologic cancers.
