’s obstetrician-gynecologist Mark Pillitteri was recently named the hospital's Physician of the Quarter.
Pillitteri was nominated by Theresa Santilli-Grassi of Bellmore, who credits the doctor with helping her achieve her dream of delivering a healthy baby after previously giving birth to a stillborn 35 weeks into her pregnancy.
“He was able to recognize my nervousness, and take the time I needed to talk with him. Dr. Pillitteri helped me to achieve my goal−giving my oldest son a sibling,” said Santilli-Grassi.
Pillitteri was presented with a plaque for his acheivement and Santilli-Grassi received a check for $100 for nominating him.
Throughout the year, the hospital recognizes physicians who have gone above and beyond to help a patient. Good Sam is accepting letters of nominations (no longer than 300 words) from patients wishing to nominate their physicians. Specific examples of how the physician exceeds his or her normal duties should be included. In addition to the cash award, the patient and doctor selected will have their story published in Good News From Good Sam and on the hospital’s website. Letters should be typed or printed legibly and contain the nominating patient’s name, address and phone number. Winners will be contacted by phone.
Nominations can be entered online at www.good-samaritan-hospital.org or mailed to:
