Michael J. Benanti, DO, has been appointed chairman of the Department of Imaging Services at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, as well as the chairman of radiology for the eastern division of Catholic Health Services of Long Island.
Board certified in both diagnostic radiology and neuororadiology, Benanti brings more than 20 years of experience in imaging. As chairman, Benanti will be overseeing medical operations for imaging services at Good Samaritan, St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center, and St. Charles Hospital.
Benanti, of East Setauket, has served as Good Samaritan’s section chief of neuroradiology since 2000. He earned his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine followed by a residency in diagnostic radiology at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. He then completed a two-year fellowship in neuroradiology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, American Society of Neuroradiology, and American Osteopathic College of Radiology.
