Cafe Mojo To Close

West Islip eatery to shutter after nine years of business.

Cafe Mojo will close its doors Thursday after nine years of business, according to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page.

The quirky cafe on Higbie Lane--which billed itself as "A little touch of Soho in West Islip"--regularly hosted weekly events such as Psychic Night and Drag Bingo.

According to Jacqueline Hartman, who co-owns Cafe Mojo with her husband Marc, the eatery and bar will be taken over by a "local couple" and will be known as The Lions Den. The current staff will remain, as will the menu.

Patrons are invited to visit on Thursday to bid Cafe Mojo farewell and share their memories.

Though the restuarant is closing, it is not the last time locals will see the Hartmans.

"Marc, me and the kids will be customers at the new place so we will be seeing most of you on any given night," wrote Jacqueline.
