Business Spotlight: Blink Fitness Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary

Two new membership specials are being offered to mark the occasion.

Just one year ago this month Blink Fitness opened its doors at 75 Sunrise Highway in West Islip.

In honor of the occasion the gym is offering two membership specials that have a $10 dollar start-up fee: the Gray, which is $15 a month with no contract and a free personal training session, the Blue which is $20 a month and allows members to bring a friend during every visit and also includes a free 30-minutes personal training session.

Blink is also offering a special invite to residents to come by and get a free workout for one day.

To give local residents more insight on the new gym, Patch interviewed Blink Fitness and Personal Training Manager Lisa Fleming on what the gym offers and why it chose to open in West Islip.

Patch: First off, why did you choose to open in West Islip?
Blink Fitness is more than just a gym and strives to create healthier communities by giving everyone the opportunity to incorporate fitness into their daily routine. With this in-mind, the majority of Blink employees are from the surrounding communities including West Islip. This dedication to the community allows us to best understand our members and prospective members. Each community is unique and in this respect, our staff is individualized to the Blink location.

Patch: What does your company provide overall?
Blink’s clean, well-designed workout environment focuses on basic fitness elements: brand-name cardio and strength training equipment, free weights and a dedicated functional training area.

Patch: What is something your company offers that competitors may not?
Affordable fitness with a true stake in the community.

Patch: What should people consider when choosing a gym?:

  • Proximity to home or work- if it's not convenient it's much more difficult to motivate yourself to get there.
  • Equipment and programs- choose a gym that has what you need and what you want ie. personal training, classes, pool etc
  • Friendly staff- you want to belong to a gym that makes you feel welcomed and at home
  • Cleanliness- you want a clean gym for obvious health reasons but it is also an indicator of a well run establishment.
Patch: What are your most popular services/products
Blink boasts over 100 pieces of cardio equipment, over 65 pieces of strength equipment as well as a group fitness area.  In Blink standard, the club will also offer one-on-one personal training and group training.
