Town of Islip to Kick Off Summer Concert Series

Free concert series will feature instrumental groups and tribute bands.

A horn band, Motown group, saxophone quartet and a slew of tribute bands will make stops in Islip this year during the Town's annual Summer Concert Series.

Each concert is free and open to all residents. Attendes are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets and insect repellent on those warm summer nights.

The series kicks off with Uppercut at East Islip Marina on Tuesday, July 10.

Each concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., except for Quattraphonium, who will begin at 7 p.m.

The complete schedule is listed in the table below, as well as in Islip’s 2012 Summer Directory.

In case of rain, the concerts will usually be rescheduled for the following day. Any decision to move locations indoors will be made after 3 p.m. the day of the performance. Residents can call the Office of Cultural Affairs at 224-5430 with any questions.

You can thank all these POS politicians for the new gun legislation designed to make law abidingRead More citizens give up their second amendment rights out of sheer frustration and incontinence of owning a gun legally for increases in savage on citizen violence. This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Has anyone been able to find out if we are losing money renting this building to this for profitRead More preschool? If I under stood correctly from previous post's, there may be some friendship with one or more BOE members which paved the way for their lease.
