Is the end near for Bart, Lisa, Homer, Marge and Maggie?
According to a report by the Daily Beast, FOX’s long running animated series The Simpsons is in danger of coming to an end because of a contractual dispute with the actors that voice the show’s popular characters.
A statement from 20th Century Fox TV said the company cannot produce future seasons under its current financial model.
The Daily Beast reported that the studio is threatening to end production unless the actors take a 45 percent pay cut. The talent has countered with a proposed 30 percent cut in pay, but with a small slice of the show’s back-end earnings that include money from syndication.
