WI Girls Lacrosse, Islanders Team To Support Newtown

Led by Riley Hill, girls lacrosse team and New York Islanders host a fundraiser with proceeds going to Connecticut community

A member of the West Islip High School’s girls’ lacrosse team is looking to help families in Newtown, Conn., who were impacted by the tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December.

Riley Hill and her teammates are teaming with the New York Islanders to host “Laxin’ For The 26” on Saturday, April 6, at the Nassau Coliseum. That night, the Islanders will continue their playoff push against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tickets normally priced at $41 are being sold for $30 as part of the fundraiser.

Funds raised will go to support the Newtown Youth Academy.
